What a super busy 2012 we’ve had at the school!!!

Term one (Sept ’12 – Dec ’12) has been action packed and it’s not over yet….

The studio reopened for dance/drama/singing/cheerleading classes-with the addition of film making in drama class. It was great to see old and new faces. We also welcomed Natasha Daughtry to our dance teaching staff.

We also started our shakespearean drama teams. We had such a huge interest in the project that we ended putting together two different plays.

Our school was once again selected to supply dance students for The Cork Opera House panto Alice in Wonderland.

Adult Pilates classes recommenced with the addition of morning classes and a mother and baby class.

Our cheer squads travelled to the Irish All Star Nationals Cheer competition in Mayo for a weekend competition, bringing home 2nd,4th & 5th places.

Our Dance Extravaganza showcase was held in the Rochestown park Hotel with almost 500 dance students performing for parents and friends. Fiona Kennedy took home the much coveted title of senior dance student of the year, earning herself a full dance scholarship for next term.

The first of our drama movies opened in the Gate Cinema. Over 500 drama students featured in their very own movies which were shown on the big screen for family and friends. Such was the excitement of this project that every screening throughout the month was completely sold out!!

The Wolfes Cheer Squad became the official cheerleaders for Fr Mathews basketball club.

The first of our Christmas dance and singing cabarets to welcome Santa to Douglas took place in Douglas Court Shopping centre. This cabaret featured over 200 students.

Our second Christmas cabaret was performed in Douglas Village Shopping Centre featuring a further 200 students.

Our production of a Midsummer Night’s Dream directed by Declan and Tess Maguire ran to sell out audiences for 3 performances. Such was the high standard of talent that the play will now be performed for one night only Wednesday 9th January 2013 in the Cork Arts Theatre!!!!

The second Shakespearean group performed 12th Night with Sinead Madden as director.

Cork Opera House panto Alice in Wonderland opened featuring our very own Declan Wolfe alongside our students.
